ABOUT

I am a queer ceramic artist living in Katarokwi/Kingston making functional and sculptural work. I often explore ecological themes that encompass the alarm I feel about the climate crisis and the joy and respite I experience through my connection with the land. I utilize beauty as a tool for engagement by creating appealing, lush, sensuous pieces that call up notions of replenishment. I aim for a sense of grace and whimsy in the work, wanting to create objects that feel personal and intimate, that enliven everyday life and communicate a sense of joy and story. I love to teach and have facilitated workshops across the country. You can find my work online at Make and Do, and in person at galleries in Toronto, Ottawa, Almonte and Kingston.
